Up until last year I have only had 2 new street bikes. 78 GS550 suzuki and a 85 Yamaha RZ350. That my friends was a long time ago.

I resisted riding anything new because I really liked my RZ ( I have had 5 of 'em). I made the mistake of riding the FZ-09 At Daytona Bike Week last year. I had to have one. Bought one, sold the RZ & bought a new Grom.

I usually buy used. Let someone else take the big dollar hit on a new machine. As of late I am purchasing new. I also never buy the first year of a new model. I am breaking all the rules with the 10! LOL

I really like the 09. Hate the seat (even with a Seat Concepts GP seat on it), feels like I am sitting on a 2x12 (stock seat). That is/was my major gripe with that machine.

Now the 10 I hear the seat is still less that perfect, or so I have read / watched.

I can't wait. I am all giddy like a schoolgirl going to the prom for the first time...

Went with the ArmorGray.
Had 3 black bikes in a row now and I'm pretty tired of trying to take care of gloss black paint.
Figure the Hi-Vis will be an easy fix if I get sick of it.

Wrapping the paint with clear vinyl is a great way to make sure it remains as easy to maintain as possible. Or even finding some good paint protection product you can apply, like Opti Coat.

I usually don't like Yamaha's blue, but 2016 and up blue looks cool:

I saw a FZ09 on the floor and it was shiny and attractive.

See shiny is what typically gets me. But with the styling of this bike, I think the black is the only thing that does it justice.

Black for the most part is what I would rather see too, that with some fluorescent yellow accents, or even dark grey with the same accents.

Not yet. Has been ordered but no confirmation as of yet.

My guess is the peeps on the west coast are getting theirs first. I don't know if another ship is going thru the Panama Canal or will all be shipped from the west coast? I dono...

My FZ-09 is getting lonely...

At first the anticipation was a killer. Now, its like, whatever. I am almost over the bike. I really wanted to be one of the first to have one. Obviously that is not happening. But whenever it comes in I will go & pick it up. I am not holding my breath anymore...

It might pay off to not be the first since there's always that chance for some issue to come up with early batches. So not being first might actually pay off.
