Just an FYI, NOT A BIG DEAL. There is a service bulletin for a reprogram of the side stand function. They did mine today while having the 600 mile service done.

Not a problem just a quick fix software wise.

This was posted on another forum after my original post. Gives a great explanation:

That bulletin has been discussed previously. There are two switches that need to be closed in the ignition switch assembly.....one turns on the ECU, the other triggers the side stand/neutral clutch lockout circuit. If you turn the key too slowly the ECU turns on before the second switch is closed and the ECU sees a fault and you get a 'check engine' type light on the dash. Evidently the newer electronics turn on the ECU very quickly compared to older versions. Only way to clear it is to reprogram the ECU, that is what the bulletin does. It reprograms the logic so the ECU gives more time for the second switch to be closed. Yamaha dealers are very familiar with it.....they have a database which they log onto and it tells them if any outstanding bulletins or issues apply to any particular bike. Takes about 30 minutes.

Called Nels at 2wheeldynoworks about the up date flash that Yamaha has on the side stand since I just mailed him my ECU for a update flash for my new Graves VES midpipe and custom muffler exhaust system. . He said he already knows about it and will do the updates that are needed so I won't have to bring my FZ10 to the dealer. He also said that YES if you have your ECU flashed it will be wiped out if the dealer gets a hold of it to do the side stand up date.

Ever since we did the build on my bike including the FlastTune I've had the engine check light on my screen. My builder said he was ordering some part the would solve the issue, possibly a bypass connection?, not sure but I'm living with it right now. Also my cruise control hasn't worked since the flash either. Not sure if we'll get that back or not.

I had my cruise control not work after I had a local dyno flash tune done. I then sent my ECU back to 2wheeldynoworks and they fixed it. Nels at 2wheeldynoworks said it took them awhile to figure out the ins and out workings of our ECU. Since then the place that I had the dyno tune flash called me and said they figured out how to get the cruise working on my bike again, but I already had it fixed.

Marrietta motor sports did a dyno flash after I had 2wheeldynoworks Reflash my ECU. I just wanted to dial it in. Oh my traction control button would not work while moving also. But 2wheeldynoworks fixed that to. Now I can change my TC while moving but throttled down.

I'm still not clear which flash you used. Mine was FlashTune.
normally you can not chance TC on the fly, unless your flash is programmed for that, but it's rare.
My ECU is flash tuned by 2wheeldynoworks. It also had a graves tune or flash tune for there new VES midpipe and muffler exhaust.

If I read your statement correctly you are saying that the brand of your flash is "flash" and it was installed by a company called 2wheeldynoworks. I'm not asking who installed it but rather what flash was installed. Are you sure it wasn't FlashTune..?
