Came across this free app for planning your ride and tracking where you've been. Has anyone tried their app before?

That app is a rebranded Riding Social app from 2015. Some tips are to keep your phone plugged in to charge, take off rotation, and take your phone off of auto-lock.

Another tip is to not start the app when you're at home or at your garage or whatever because it pin-points your location.
didn't think about starting the app away from home. Good thing I haven't tried it yet or everyone would be able to see where I live...
Tracking ? No thanks
Yeapp, it pretty much tracks your rides wherever you go and other people can see it and try to join you on your trip or just use your route and follow it. Kinda creepy when you think about it lol

I like the idea of having a live feed to where you are, but can just anyone access the data?
To my knowledge, and don't quote me on this, but from what I've heard, as soon as you turn on that tracking of your ride, it lets other riders in the vicinity know about it or something along those lines. They can see it on the map or some nonsense.
I have the app but haven't used it to track a ride. You add friends like you do social media apps and you can see data from those friends... but not just anybody. So as long as you manage your friends... you should be pretty safe.

Well that explains a lot more. Is the adding friends thing like an instagram type of scenario. Where you can explore and add random people to be friends or you gotta search their names and whatnot ?
Cheeze is right... when you turn on the tracking... it starts when you start it. So if you start it at home... your friends will see where your home is. As for adding friends... you have to search by name and then it sends a confirmation to that person for confirmation. So you won't have random friends. The point still remains... your routes are available for others to see.

The app also allows you to track data (distance, time, max & avg speed, as well as post photos, like, and comment. Not much different than a running app used to track exercise.
Hmm.. I do like the max speed thing.. but I'd rather get something like a Racelogic box or something and call it a day. Rather not have anyone know where I've been.. sometimes I like to find secret spots and keep it to myself because I'm just a grinch like that ;)
