Hello,
Bought my FZ10 on Memorial day weekend and put a little over
1700 miles on it since then. Unfortunately on 8/16 the bike lost power and couldn't make it back to my house. Bike has been at the Yamaha dealer since 8/17 and diagnosed with a failed fuel pump. According to dealer no fuel pump is available stateside and one is supposed to arrive from Japan 8/28, but they aren't sure if it will be in Kennesaw, GA warehouse or at the dealership. Other than this problem I am in love with the bike. I have owned many metric bikes since 1970s and this is the first problem I have ever encountered.

Wow! Sorry to hear that, and worried! I just bought mine a little over a week ago and have put 100 miles on it. 1700 is way too soon for anything to be going on with that bike. Let's hope the part makes it in soon and it just turns out to be an anomaly. I at some point will have to take mine back to the dealer as it arrived with some scratches on the tank that I didn't see until I got home with it and looked at it in the sunlight. We'll see if the dealer "mans up" and corrects this for me.

Good luck to you, welcome to the forum and Safe riding!

That sucks. But my travels thru my buying life have taught me that if a elec part is weak it will fail fairly soon. If not it should last a long time. I had my battery go coput soon after I bought my FZ10. Since then 6,000mi and no problems. You should be on the road soon.
