Hello all,
I just purchased my FZ 10 yesterday and rode it back about 40 miles. Awesome bike and awesome power. When I got back I must have had it sitting there running for a couple minutes and noticed the engine temperature was 230 degrees and slowly climbing even though the fan was running. Is this normal operating temperatures? And how hot does it have to be till the engine temp light turns on?
Any advice is appreciated.

Yea she will get hot before the fan comes on to cool it down. If you get your ECU Reflashed they will set your fan to come on sooner. Think the highest temp I seen was 205 in traffic ,but usually it's 195 or less in stop and go traffic.

After a ride on a really hot day, I stopped to get gas and when I filled the tank then initially started back up the red overheat light did come on briefly for a few seconds but went right off once the bike was running. I didn't think ti check the display at the time since it was set to the air temp, but I don't have any ecu flash done and around town over 200 degrees is fairly typical.
