I saw this today and had the same response. We have many veterans in our family myself included and the lack of respect and courtesy given to our vets is unbelievable. An average wait time in a VA emergency room is over sixteen hours if you can believe that.
I think the whole health employee vetting system needs a major overhaul to make sure only those of sound mind can be charged with the care of medical dependents. It's ridiculous to see something like that happen in this day and age.
Can't recall where as this was years ago, but I read about a retirement community that's pretty much a town where seniors can go about normal daily lives in a safe environment. I.e. grocery shopping, getting a drink at the cafe, etc.
