Yamaha’s FZ-10 is already available on their Canadian site so it’s only a matter of time until we have some sort of confirmation that the MT-10 will be going on sale state side too. Now we’ve learned that the California Air Resources Board (CARB) has recently certified it as a 2017 model under the FZ-10 name.

Not long ago, Yamaha announced that Canada will be getting the 2017 FZ-10 and it would make sense to bring the naked R1 stateside too but, there was no official confirmation for those of you south of the border and this could have made potential buyers a bit antsy.

Well now it’s been confirmed in a CARB document and the 2017 FZ-10 will be available in two colors. The options are codenamed FZ10HCB and FZ10HCGY, of course FZ10 refers to the model and Yamaha typically labels their colors “B” for black and “GY” for gray. These are the same color options that Canada is getting.

Nothing should be different between the Canadian and American models, you’ll still be getting a 998cc inline-four engine with a crossplane crankshaft, chip controlled throttle, and three traction control modes.

Yamaha hasn’t released an official statement yet but we should be hearing from them soon since the document has been revealed.
