MT-10 Gets A Small Price Hike For 2017

It’s a new year and for anyone who’s looking to purchasing a Yamaha MT-10, know that the price has been increased 800.

With a 800 price hike, a basic Mt-10 will set you back 10,799 instead of 9,999. On the bright side, there’s a reason for the price increase as new owners will get the A&S clutch and Quick Shifter System as standard.

A quick shifter is one of the more popular upgrades a track rider will make. With it, riders will no longer need to touch either the clutch or throttle to change up a gear. All you’ll need to do whilst speeding down a straight is to simply click up with your foot and the quick shifter will handle the rest with minimal fuss.

The quick shifter, ABS and traction control combo is becoming standard equipment on some of today’s sportier offerings including the BMW S1000RR. But at 13,950 each, the MT-10 is proving to be the better deal of the two.

What does everyone think of this price hike?

I'm fine with the price hike. It's not like it's a price hike just for the sake of a price hike. Although, incremental increases are expected. But, nonetheless, making the quick shifter, ABS, and traction control standard, it makes it all worth it.

I don't mind the price increase for the clutch and quick shifter upgrade... well worth the price on a stock bike. I'll be interested to see what happens in the US market.

Its one of the better things Yamaha can do with all that's happening in the motorcycle world when it comes to how sporty things are getting.

Any way to further complement what a bike already has going on goes a long way.

Looking at the extreme's, even Kawasaki is taking the Ninja H2 to another level.
